Patti Mehl

Patti Mehl

PATTI MEHL, the owner of Mindful Core Pilates, is a Third Generation Pilates instructor comprehensively certified through Balanced Body University. In addition to being trained in Mat, Reformer, Chair, Cadillac/Trapeze, Barrels and Small Apparatus, she completed a year of intensive training apprenticeship with a Master Pilates trainer. She has taught Pilates in a Physical Therapy clinic and managed Pilates studio in Goodyear, Arizona.

Pilates was recommended to Patti by a Physical Therapist as she rehabilitated from several surgeries including a spinal fusion in 2006. Patti suffered from debilitating fibromyalgia and chronic back pain for years initiated by a serious car accident in her late teens and antagonized by several disc injuries, arthritis, and frozen shoulder. With the possibility of future surgeries and pain management, she decided to look at alternative therapies to avoid any more invasive procedures and heavy medications, and after much research decided that Pilates was the best option.

Her love of Pilates grew as she recovered through the wonderful system of exercises designed by Joseph Pilates which emphasizes the balanced development of the body through core strength, flexibility, and awareness in order to create efficient, graceful and pain-free movement. Eager to share her experience of wellness and with a desire to help others she left a career in Operations Management and Marketing to become a full-time Pilates instructor.

Her passion is helping others find the amazing mind-body connection that Pilates provides. Her approach is to connect the mind to the body and breath creating a synergistic "Mindful Core" correcting and maintaining balance within the mind, body, and spirit.

Patti remains active in continuing education courses and is a current member of the Pilates Method Alliance. She holds additional certificates through the Pilates on Tour Rehabilitation Conference in working with clients with osteoporosis, shoulder and back injuries, spinal stenosis, Pilates for golfers, and more.

Teri Neumann

Teri Neumann

Teri has always valued fitness in her own life, and finds it extremely rewarding to help others achieve a balanced and fit lifestyle. While she enjoys working with people at all levels of fitness, she especially finds herself drawn to those who are novices to making a decision to get, and stay, healthy.

After being in administration for several years, Teri returned to school at Arizona State University and graduated Magna cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology in 2009. While performing ultrasounds in a local hospital, she realized her passion was to be proactive in helping people live healthier lifestyles to avoid chronic illness and disease. It was then that Teri decided to pursue becoming an NASM – CPT certified personal trainer and Peak Pilates Comprehensive Level II certified.

While Teri's personal exercise regimen had been mainly focused on resistance training, she found the balance she had been missing when she took her first Pilates class. She immediately developed a passion for the practice, and soon after it became very evident that Pilates was the best way for her to reach out and help others achieve the strength, stamina, stability, and stretch that is so important to a balanced body.
